As a break from hand sewing those pie pieces,
blogged back here http://suzdandelionwishes.blogspot.com/2010/05/pie-piecing.html
thought I'd try some cross stitch on non-Aida fabric.
I am participating soon in an embroidery/patchwork bee I found on Flick'r so thought I should get some practice in !
Never used this linen before. It wasn't too difficult- just don't look for the mistakes!
Took the pattern from this beautiful book, which my son gave me as a gift.

Now I've added a border and given it a press.

It's not my usual color choice but I was not able to access my thread supply (it's a LONG story!),
so found this magenta thread and thought the hibiscus flower suited the colour.
Not sure what I will make from it - A bag? A cover for a holiday journal?
Suggestions anyone?
See you soon
Suz
